Lake Oconee Area Builders Association

The Lake Oconee Area Builders Association, a local trade organization, is dedicated to the betterment of the local construction industry and works to serve our members, consumers and the community through education and public service.

Welcome to summer at Lake Oconee. If you like hot and sunny you are enjoying the best of both here at the lake. Our June Membership Meeting sponsored by Embry Transport/Embry Farm Service and ACS had over 80 in attendance to hear Paul Vanhaute Putnam County Manager share his vision for the future of Putnam County and offer a his support to our industry when dealing with County Services. He also offered to meet with Greene County to try and standardize the process and services offered by the county so our Builders and Trades will have as much as possible in common between our two counties. We will not have a membership meeting in July but will meet Tuesday August 3^rd. We have scheduled the return of LOABA family picnic for Saturday July 17^th. Roy Embry has offered his meeting and picnic area for the picnic where we had our June membership meeting. The committee has planned kid activities, pond fishing and the very popular crab race. LOABA will provide hamburgers & hotdogs and we are counting on you to bring other covered dishes. I would like to thank Roy for providing the picnic area. Directory information will go out at the end of June for next year. All updates to membership information will be due the 1st week of August. Remember this Directory is distributed to area businesses and finds its way into our local area residents. Our Food Drive was a huge success with our members giving back to the most needy families in our area. Thanks to Stephanie Kelly and her committee for this years Food Drive. Level 1-A Recertification

Effective July 1, 2010 the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission (GSWCC) will:

· no longer mail expiration warnings to individuals whose certifications are set to expire within 60 days. However, electronic notifications will be sent to those individuals that have a valid email address registered with GSWCC. If you would like to receive electronic notifications please call 706-552-4474 or email certification@gaswcc.org.

· no longer issue new certification cards to those individuals that have met the re-certification requirements. Instead, individuals will receive a re-certification sticker that will extend their certification for another three years. The re-certification sticker will have the individual’s name, certification number and the new expiration date. The sticker should be placed on the backside of the current certification card.

· issue replacement cards to those individuals that send a self addressed, stamped envelope along with a written request to:
